It is not possible for the customer to opt out of the rules regarding information security. A business is required to adequately safeguard personal information. If there is personal data that requires security of confidentiality, the transfer should normally be encrypted.

What is RaidoMail?
Raido Secure Mail (RaidoMail) is a web-based service for sending e-mail in a safe and secure manner.
Why should I use RaidoMail?
E-mail is an unsafe way to send information. If you are digitally sending personal information or other sensitive information, make sure that it is safe and secure so that no one can intercept the information along the way. With regular email you have no guarantee of this. With Raido Secure Mail (RaidoMail), you can be sure that no one but the recipient is able to access the information you send.
How does it work?
When you use RaidoMail, the email is not sent directly to the recipient. It is encrypted and stored on one of our servers. The recipient receives an email notification. You (or the system) create a password that the recipient needs to read your e-mail. This can be sent automatically through SMS, or you can make sure it is communicated to the recipient in any other way. The recipient clicks on a link in the email that alerted the message and uses the password as the key to decrypt the email.
Can I use Outlook or another email client?
Currently, you need to send emails from our web application, but we plan to create an addon for Outlook, and eventually also for other email clients.
Does the recipient need to have a RaidoMail account?
No, you can send to anyone. The receiver does not need a RaidoMail account. The recipient can read the email you sent using the link and password sent to them. The recipient can also reply to the email via RaidoMail without registering an account, but not sending encrypted emails to others.
What happens if I forget my password?
Since we use your password to encrypt the messages sent from you, the simple answer is that you cannot read the messages you have sent if you forget your password. We have no way to decrypt your messages without this password. As an additional security mechanism, we have therefore entered the possibilities to register two control questions, with the corresponding answers, which you can use if you have forgotten your password.
Can you read the messages that reside on the server?
No, we can’t read the messages. Messages are encrypted before they are stored on our server, and we do not have access to the encryption keys. Neither passwords nor encryption keys are stored unencrypted on our server, so there is no way we can decrypt the messages. This means that we also cannot help you if you have forgotten your password and the answers to the control questions.
Is it safe?
It is quite secure. Nothing is perfect, nor our solution, but it is at least much safer than sending sensitive information through regular email. But if, for example, Your PC is infected with software that can read the keystrokes on your PC, your password can be hacked.
Do you backup your messages?
We backup all our servers, and all the messages are encrypted the same way on the backup as they are on the server.
Where is the data stored?
Raido Secure Mail is developed by Nordic Hosting and EnterNett, both of which are Norwegian companies. All data is stored on servers in our own data center, located in Norway. Backup goes to remote locations, which are also located in Norway.
What is Raido?
Raido is the Proto-Germanic name of the R-Rune (ᚱ) in the older Futhark – the runic alphabet used during the migration period. Raido means rides, journey or travel. The rune ᚱ is associated both with the God Thor and his carriage, and therefore is the Rune of the traveller (both physically and spiritually). It symbolizes the existence of a road to solve a problem and is therefore considered the rune for the protection of the traveller or the safe journey – as we would like our service to provide a secure journey for your email.
